Registration for this event has now closed in preparation of the event Tuesday. You may register on-site beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Join us as the Nashville Post and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce partner to bring Middle Tennessee the second annual "Green Heroes" designation and the inaugural "Green Heroes" event.
“Green Heroes” recognizes the hard work of 50 eco-friendly companies in the Middle Tennessee region and their place along the spectrum of sustainability. And, new this year, we will expand the honor to include the creators of public policy and community initiatives that strive to support the environmental practices of businesses and the broader community.
What makes a ”Green Hero”? For this recognition we seek companies, organizations or individuals that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Provides goods or services intended to improve the sustainability of others.
- Employs sustainable principles in their facilities and practices.
The "Green Heroes" businesses advance their companies with the "Triple Bottom Line," or "people, planet, profit" concept, which aims to reduce an organization’s carbon footprint by placing equal importance on its social, ecological and financial performance.
Our panel discussion will explore the leading edge of policy and practice for sustainability. Moderated by Nashville Post Editor Geert De Lombaerde, panelists will include:
-
Tabitha Crawford, president, Balfour Beatty Energy Solutions;
-
Andy Mims, VP of sustainability, Gaylord Entertainment;
-
Trisa Thompson, VP of sustainability, Dell;
-
Tiffany Wilmot, president, Wilmot Inc.
