Event Description: Invitation to An Evening at the Frist
Mix, mingle and experience the Frist Center's latest exhibit!

Join YPNashville.org and the 20:20 Leadership Alliance (NAJCC, SOLID, Urban League YPs, and Young Leaders Council) for a special ''Evening at the Frist'' on Thursday, March 23, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts has generously opened their doors for this one-of-a-kind Young Professionals event. Discounted parking ($2), light appetizers and a cash bar will be provided. You will also have the opportunity to win a one-year membership to the Frist Center!

This is a FREE event for members of any of the 20:20 Leadership organizations and employees of Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce member companies. Registration is required.


African Art, African Voices: Long Steps Never Broke a Back
Drawn primarily from the Seattle Museum of Art's remarkable African collections, this exhibition, whose title originates in an African parable, highlights the artistic heritage of a number of sub-Saharan cultures. Both traditional and contemporary works will be on view, illustrating both the worlds modern Africans inhabit.

To deepen the visitor's experience of the traditional objects, advisors from the represented cultures bring the works on display to life on the audiotour, revealing the meanings, stories and ideas associated with them. Video projections demonstrate how the objects are put to use in the rites, ceremonies, or even day-to-day lives, of the African communities for whom they were created.

This exhibition was organized by the Seattle Art Museum with generous funding provided by Washington Mutual.
