Event Description: Land use regulations affect how business operates, and the zoning code is an important factor in deciding whether to expand or relocate. Several Metro Council members are proposing various changes to the Davidson County Zoning Code pertaining to nonconforming uses and structures (Bill 783). A nonconforming use, structure, or sign is one that does not currently conform to the zoning district in which it is located and therefore is considered “grandfathered.” To understand the impact of Bill 783, businesses must first understand their legal status under the current zoning code and how their grandfathered status may change if Bill 783 is adopted.

Join Councilman Erik Cole, co-sponsor of bill 783, and Shawn Henry, attorney with Tune, Entrekin & White and Chamber land use volunteer, to learn more about the proposed changes and any impact of the proposed changes upon your business.
