Event Description:

Topic: Agreeing to Disagree: Crafting Effective Employment, Separation and Independent Contractor Agreements.

Description: Employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, and separation agreements can be both shield and sword for employers large and small. A cavalier attitude toward the drafting and use of these three key agreements significantly increases your organization's legal risks. The IRS's new initiative cracking down on employers who misclassify independent contractors is just one of many changes that have made it more important than ever to learn how to effectively use these agreements to protect and defend your company. Join us for an interactive session covering the key terms of these agreements, pitfalls in drafting terms, and legal requirements for enforceability.

The speaker for this HR Building Blocks Workshop will be Kim Vance, with Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC.

HRCI has approved this program for 2.0 General Credit Hours.

From the north (Louisville, I-65):
Exit onto Fesslers Lane (Exit 212). Turn right onto Murfreesboro Road, go four blocks to the campus entryway at the traffic light. Turn left into the campus (across from Purity Dairy).

From the east (Knoxville, I-40)
Continue I-40 West to Spence Lane (Exit 213). From the exit ramp turn left onto Spence Lane. Turn right onto Murfreesboro Road. The campus is 1.7 miles down Murfreesboro Road. Enter the campus through the main entry (across from Purity Dairy).

From the east (Chattanooga, I-24)
Continue I-24 West to Murfreesboro Road (Exit 52). Turn left onto Murfreesboro Road. The campus is 1.7 miles down Murfreesboro Road. Enter the campus through the main entry (across from Purity Dairy).

From the west (Memphis, I-40)
