These programs champion the growth and development of small business by fostering business development through relationships and networking, as well as providing education resources and advocacy.

Nashville Entrepreneur Center President & CEO Michael Burcham is well known for his ability to see opportunity, evaluate it, build resources and act on it. He also knows when to do you a favor and candidly say “don’t quit your day job.” Through humorous stories, a few real-life case studies, and just plain been-there, done-that wisdom, he will walk us through the skills an entrepreneur needs to recognize opportunity when it comes knocking at the door (or not).

Michael joined the Entrepreneur Center in July 2010, with extensive experience in health care innovation, entrepreneurship and startup venture coaching. He is founder and director of the Vanderbilt Owen School Accelerator Summer Business Institute. Also at the Owen School, Michael teaches healthcare innovation and strategy. From 2001 to 2007, he served as president of ParadigmHealth, a provider and integrator of care and disease management services. Prior to that, he founded and served as president of Theraphysics, a venture-backed specialty health care firm, from 1992 to 2000. He is passionate about helping the creative class transform their ideas into real businesses and looks to the Entrepreneur Center as an opportunity to revolutionize Nashville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and creative venture development on a large scale.

Also at this event, a limited amount of space will be available for Chamber members to display their company materials. Six-foot corporate display tables can be reserved for $125 each. To reserve a table, please call Molly Vice at 615-743-3063. Due to sponsor exclusivity rights, the following categories are not available: banking/finance, accounting, and marketing.
