The Chamber's Education 2020 Speaker Series and Mayor Karl Dean present:
Racing to the Top: How Tennessee's $500 million grant award will accelerate education reform

Late last month, Tennessee was one of only two states selected to receive a "Race to the Top" grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tim Webb, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Education, and a panel of state and local education experts will discuss how this grant will help Tennessee implement recent legislation on teacher evaluation and effectiveness, as well as provide funding that will accelerate reform initiatives already underway in our state, such as teacher compensation reform, focused professional development and the use of data to improve educational outcomes.

Parking:
The cost of parking will be validated at registration. Parking will ONLY be validated for the Republic Parking Garage below the Chamber offices.
Directions: From Broadway, going towards the riverfront, take a left on Third Avenue. The underground parking garage will be on your right immediately after FedEx/Kinko's. After parking, leave the garage and proceed across Third Avenue to the AT&T Building.
