What is HR Connect 4?

Do you remember the childhood game where you connected the dots, lining up 4 game pieces to win? HR as a profession has many pieces that you must connect and understand in order to win – legal, compensation, benefits, recruiting, development, employee relations, and more!

HR Connect 4 is a new program designed for the busy HR professional who wants to learn about hot topics in a fast-paced, high-energy setting.  Participants will be placed into a small group of 15 to facilitate high-impact discussion and personal involvement.  Each group will rotate between four topics providing information you can apply to your day-to-day workplace.

Topics:

  • ERISA 404(c) and your 401(k): The Department of Labor is doubling in size in 2010 and becoming more active about enforcing fiduciary responsibility.  Educate yourself of what your responsibilities are as a fiduciary of a 401(k), and learn how to protect your employer from liability.
  • The New Normal: Emerging Best Practices for Relocation Policies: According to a recent Worldwide Employee Relocation Council Survey, 70% of organizations have made changes to their relocation policies within the past year. If you are struggling with changes to your policy or have questions on how others are handling the challenges facing mobility today, you need to participate in this seminar.
  • Keys to Hiring the Very Best Fit for Your Business: Perhaps the single most common HR mistake businesses continue to make is hiring less-than-ideal applicants.  This presentation will focus on the keys to identifying those candidates who can and will get the job done,  what motivates them, and why so often businesses "settle" for mediocrity.
  • Employee Leave Issues in Tennessee: This program will address issues that HR officers routinely face involving employee leave.  We will focus on the requirements set forth under the Family & Medical Leave Act,  the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Tennessee Maternity/Paternity Leave Act.
