Social networking web sites such as Twitter and YouTube have presented unprecedented opportunities for business owners to expand their marketing reach, but successfully deciding which tools to use can present a challenge.
Multimedia expert Dr. Sybril Bennett, executive director and associate professor of Belmont University's New Century Journalism Program, will put popular books such as Chris Anderson's The Long Tail and Thomas Friedman's The World is Flat into context, and provide examples of ways companies can tap into the emerging power of social networking web sites and other "new media" tools to take their businesses to the next level.
In this interactive session, participants will engage in several exercises designed to help encourage creative, "outside-the-box" thinking when approaching new media technology. Bennett will also provide technical demonstrations of devices such as the Flip video camera and discuss nearly a dozen web sites that companies can use to promote their products and services.
Participants will come away with a new understanding of ways to incorporate new media technology into business strategy.
