Event Description: Join the expert Japanese instructors at the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute for three language workshops, suitable for Japanese learners at all levels. This event is in honor of Japan Week organized by the Japanese Consulate in anticipation of the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival!

1:00-2:00 PM: Beginner's Japanese Language Lesson

2:00 - 3:30 PM: Calligraphy & Kanji - Learn all about Japan’s beautiful Kanji characters practice the stroke order, learn the basics of Japanese Kanji writing, and create and take home a piece of calligraphy art!
Suitable for learners of Japanese and Chinese of all levels as well as language and script enthusiasts with no prior knowledge or familiarity with Japanese.

3:30 - 5:00 PM: Typing Japanese on Electronic Devices - bring your device (PC or Mac, iOS or Android) and discover how to change the settings to type in Japanese. Learn tips and tricks of using a computer or phone to enhance your Japanese learning experience!
Suitable for learners of Japanese of all levels and other language enthusiasts who wonder how to type in a language that uses two alphabets and Kanji!


Directions:
TFLI is located in Metro Center. RSVP is appreciated for space reasons but not required. As with all state buildings, visitors must bring a photo ID to check in at the security station. Plenty of free parking!
