Event Description: There continue to be great opportunities and challenges when attracting and securing foreign direct investment (FDI). Will new cybersecurity or other national security concerns limit non-U.S. investors seeking to invest in the United States? When is it necessary to make a filing in front of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States? How do recent trade and sanctions requirements impact your potential FDI partner? These and other questions are open to debate – and finding the right answer to the question can mean the difference between a successful and disastrous transaction.

In this lively program, our panel will help explain the current international investment landscape, with a particular focus on the national security issues that permeate it. The panel will also provide practical guidance on navigating the challenges that exist with evolving cybersecurity and sanctions regimes. We hope you can join us.

Panelists:
Col. Jason Dempsey, adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security
Samar Ali, attorney, Bass, Berry & Sims PLC
Todd Overman, member, head of Government Contracts Practice Group, Bass, Berry & Sims PLC
