Event Description: Get to know the many programs and diverse offerings of UT-TSU Extension at a special Meet Me at the Market on Wednesday, March 9. Meet Me at the Market is an interactive shopping and dining experience held every second Wednesday at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. In March, to honor Extension Month, Meet Me at the Market will include special presentations from local UT-TSU Extension agents. Visitors can learn about gardening, nutrition programs, youth development programs and much more. “Extension means ‘reaching out,’ and we want to reach out to the Nashville community to show them the many valuable programs and services we offer,” says Michael Barry, County Extension Director. Meet Extension at the Market activities kick off at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9. There is no cost to attend. In addition to learning from local agents, visitors can partake in cooking demonstrations and win prizes. The event ends at 2 p.m. County Extension offices across the state are planning various celebration and commemorations during March for the state’s 106-year-old Extension program. Extension is the outreach arm of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and the Tennessee State University College of Agriculture Human and Natural Sciences. Extension programs are delivered in all 95 counties in the state.
