Event Description: On Friday, August 14, Junior Achievement (JA) of Middle Tennessee and Nissan will host the annual JA Awareness Breakfast, presented by Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Inc. and Lipscomb University. The event educates Nashville’s business professionals and individuals on JA’s mission and their focus around financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship for children in Kindergarten through twelfth grades. JA is the only organization entirely dedicated to preparing kids to lead healthy financial lifestyles. Over 300 individuals are expected to gather at Lipscomb University to learn about opportunities within the JA organization and what it offers to the community. The theme for this year’s breakfast will be “We’ve got questions - JA has answers” and will feature the recently hired Nashville Entrepreneur Center CEO, Stuart McWhorter. Doors open at 7 a.m. and event emcees will be current JA students. Hosted at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena, (1 University Park Dr. Nashville, TN 37204) the breakfast has no cost to attend, however, attendees will have the opportunity to sign up to volunteer in an area classroom, support the organization financially or get involved with future events. JA board members, students, teachers and volunteers will also speak on behalf of JA and their experience.
