Event Description: The Salvation Army will hold “A Gathering of Angels”, a luncheon fundraiser to benefit the Angel Tree Program. A Gathering of Angels was created to kick-off The Salvation Army Angel Tree program which annually provides toys, food, gifts and clothing to the needy in our area during the Christmas season. In 2013, the program distributed more than 35,000 gifts benefiting over 10,000 individuals. Kroger will be honored with the 2014 Anne Ragsdale Angel Emeritus Award. Kroger, one of the world’s largest retailers, employs more than 375,000 associates who serve customers in 2,638 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 34 states. Kroger contributes food and funds equal to 200 million meals a year through more than 100 Feeding America food bank partners and has been a long-time supporter of The Salvation Army both through the Red Kettle Program and the Food Angel Tree program. NFL Rookie of the year, Heisman Trophy Winner and former Tennessee Titan Eddie George will be the keynote speaker for this event.

The 2014 Gathering of Angels will be held on Thursday October 30, 2014 from 11:30a.m. to 1:00pm at Rocketown, located at 601 Fourth Ave South in downtown Nashville.
