Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms invites you to participate in the inaugural Full Belly Friends of Shelby 5K race over Thanksgiving weekend 2020. Committed to the preservation, enhancement and promotion of Shelby Park and Bottoms, Friends of Shelby seeks to bring the community together to celebrate what we are most thankful for and to help those who do not have enough. This event will raise funds to support the 1,300 acre Shelby Park and Bottoms as well as the Drkmtter Collective Free Store.

We understand that not everyone will have a “full belly” during the Thanksgiving holiday, so we are requesting monetary donations on behalf of the Drkmttr Collective Free Store at race registration as well as collecting canned goods and non-perishable items hosted by East Nashville Scout Troop 3 during the race t-shirt pick up. This “virtual” event will take place over the Thanksgiving weekend, allowing runners to participate anytime between Wednesday, November 25 through Sunday, November 29. Racers may run anywhere they like including two suggested 5K courses in the park – one at the Cornelia Fort Airpark, and one around Lake Sevier in Shelby Park and through the Shelby Bottoms greenway.
