Vonlane

I've been traveling back and forth from Dallas to San Antonio for 15 years. I'm glad I can now take a bus with a nonstop route and wonderful amenities.
Check in was great. All you need is your ID. They will check your name and that's it. You don't need to worry about showing your confirmation email.

Two bags under 50lbs are allowed plus a carry on that must fit in the overhead bin. I was able to keep my backpack in the seat next to me since it was only 5 of us on board.

The restroom is twice the size of an airplane one. It was great to have a restroom on board with the unlimited drinks.


Service was great! They are very attentive and pleasant. If your bus isn't full they'll allow you to move to another seat if you'd like. Complimentary meal (salad or a sandwich), unlimited snacks & non alcoholic drinks. You can purchase alcoholic beverages. They came around with a tray of Kleenex, Tylenol, and sleep mask. Mints were offered with the meal and once we exited the bus. Very nice experience and well worth the fare.

I was skeptical about leaving at 11:30am but the ride was very smooth. The driver took the toll road to avoid I35 Austin traffic. We did not hit traffic until we got to SA near the bus stop but it wasn't too bad.


I will say that I prefer the newer bus (pictured on their site) because the seats are bigger and more comfortable. The foot rest pulls down from the seat in front of you and the lap tray snaps into the arm rests.

Going back to Dallas I had an older bus. Assuming it was older because the seats weren't as nice.

The seat foot rest pops up from your seat and it's very short. It hit about mid calf and I'm 5'2. It was very awkward and I kept slipping off. The lap desk does not snap into place and cup holders are in between both seats. I had to hold my drink because my hip was hitting the cup while seated.

If you need to work I would reserve the table seat. They provide a nonslip mat for your laptop which is very helpful. WiFi was awesome! Headphones were offered if you happen to forget your own.


Amazing experience and now I'm spoiled. I may have to stop driving myself to San Antonio and back.

This is the only way to travel around the state of Texas. Always on time, great service and saves me money any time I travel.
I take the bus from Dallas to Austin almost every week and am always greeted by a kind and helpful staff and a clean bus. Being able to have WiFi for the trip allows me to work and not have to worry about anything because all my needs are taken care of.
The two issues I have with the bus are that you cannot add a tip for the staff for service when you buy a drink and that there is not a trip from Austin to San Antonio.
I highly recommend this to any business person needing to travel because you can work in a quiet environment and not have to worry about driving yourself.

Love the ease of it,top service, snacks and comfort! Feels like first class but on a bus and no need to go through security or get there super early like when you fly!!! Love it!!!

Took bus from Houston to San Antonio to attend a conference. The bus couldn't have been easier. And it was a pleasure to ride- clean, free wifi, and lots of snacks.

Everything! I'll never fly Southwest again if VonLane is available. Easy, comfortable, on time, good driver and excellent service all around.

This was the most comfortable and relaxing ride I have had in a very long time. I recommend this way of travel for everyone going to and from Dallas/Houston. The ease of it all was just wonderful. all the amenities offered were completely nice from a laptop holder, pillow, blanket, plenty of water, and a great host/hostess. Keep up the good work.

This was the most relaxing ride by any mode of transportation to Houston. If you haven't experienced Vonlane you need too! Amazing service smooth ride. Comfy.

So much better and easier than traveling by a plane and 100% safe!!! Pick up and drop off at 5 Star hotels with concierge right there so even the night trips are great!
