Event Description: Mid-South PeaceJam, a Program of Belmont University and STARS Nashville Hosts PUBLIC TALK with Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi from Iran. Dr. Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 for promoting peace and protecting the rights of women and children in Iran and across the Middle East. Shirin is a human rights lawyer and was the first female judge in Iran. She believes that "human rights is a universal standard. It is a component of every religion, and every civilization." This is open and free to the public although pre-registration is required via our online registration process. Print your ticket online and show at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
