Nashville is designing the public transit system of the future. Should transit be a priority? Only meet the basic needs? Be an option for everyone or a luxury in a few corridors?
Moving Forward – in partnership with Nashville MTA and RTA – will host a community meeting discussing how transit can be designed to be inclusive and create opportunity.
By attending the meeting, you will:
- Learn about and comment on the three future transit options.
- Join small group discussions on how transit can be designed to be inclusive and create opportunity
- Have your questions about Nashville’s future transit answered.
The discussion will be led by Dr. Beverly Scott who has led transit systems in Atlanta, Boston, Sacramento and Washington D.C. Dr. Scott is a champion of creating transit systems that create access and opportunity for all communities.
Schedule:
5–5:30 p.m. – Open house and Q&A with MTA/RTA staff on the three future transit scenarios
5:30–7:30 p.m.
- Steve Bland will review nMotion and the three transit scenarios currently under public review.
- Dr. Scott will lead small group discussions among attendees on how to create regional transportation with an emphasis on equity, opportunity and inclusion.
7:30–8 p.m. – Open house and Q&A with MTA/RTA staff on the three future transit scenarios
